For tough soap scum marks on bathroom fittings, apply hot white vinegar and scrub until it dissolves.
For a clogged shower head, soak overnight in white vinegar. If there are large clumps of limescale blocking the holes, prick with a pin prior to soaking.
To clean a shower door, use a cloth soaked in lemon juice, wiped clean with a newspaper to prevent streaks works wonders.
To clean plastic shower curtains, use a spray bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and water solution, and wipe clean. Air drying will prevent further mould.
Clean a grubby mirror with a solution of white vinegar and water, wiping away with newspaper or a coffee filter to avoid streaks.
Tough bath rings can be removed by rubbing with a cloth soaked in white vinegar.
For a very dirty bathtub fill with warm water and a couple of scoops of biological washing powder. Leave to soak overnight and rinse thoroughly the next day.
For bath tub rings use a sponge sprinkled with bicarbonate of soda (baking soda).
To clean a moderately dirty toilet bowl, pour a can of cola drink into the bowl and allow to sit for 10 minutes or so. Return to the toilet and clean with the toilet brush, flush to reveal a sparkly clean toilet bowl.
A very small amount of neat washing up liquid applied to a bathroom mirrors and windows (and wiped away) acts as prevention for the build up of steam on the mirror.
